The short version
The Wordbound: Arcanum of Eldara collects nothing. No account, no analytics, no ads, no tracking, no crash reporting, no cookies. The installed game makes no network requests at all. Your journey lives on your device and never leaves it.
What the game stores — on your device only
- Journey progress (chapters cleared, Lexicon entries, bestiary records, challenges completed)
- Daily quest results
- Settings (music, sound effects, haptics, reduced motion, text speed)
This data is stored in your device’s local app storage (AsyncStorage on iOS; browser local storage on the web version). It is never transmitted to us or anyone else. Deleting the app — or clearing site data in your browser — permanently deletes it. We have no copy to recover.
Network access
The installed game makes no network requests — no update checks, no telemetry, nothing. It is fully playable in Airplane Mode, forever.
The optional web version at wordbound.expo.app is served from Expo’s hosting CDN (run by Expo / 650 Industries). Like any web server, it sees a standard request — IP address and browser type — when it delivers the game files. Expo’s own privacy policy applies to that delivery:

The in-game links to this policy and the support page open in your browser; the game itself never connects.
What the game does NOT do
- No user accounts or sign-in of any kind
- No analytics, telemetry, or usage tracking
- No advertising or ad SDKs
- No sale or sharing of personal information (there is none to share)
- No access to contacts, photos, location, microphone, camera, or files
- No cookies (the web version uses local storage only, as described above)
- No third-party data processors of any kind
Children’s privacy
The Wordbound collects no personal information from anyone, including children.
Your rights
Since no personal data is collected, there is nothing to access, correct, export, or delete on our side. Removing the app deletes everything.
California residents (CCPA/CPRA): we do not collect, sell, or share personal information. EU/UK users (GDPR): there is no processing of personal data to which those rights would apply.
Changes to this policy
If the game ever gains a feature that touches data differently (e.g. optional leaderboards), this policy will be updated and the change noted in the game’s release notes before that feature ships.
