Privacy Policy — Letter Thief

Letter Thief collects nothing. No account, no analytics, no ads, no tracking, no crash reporting, no cookies. Your game data lives on your device and never leaves it.

• Game statistics (games played, scores, longest chain, challenges completed)
• Daily puzzle progress and streak state
• Settings (appearance, haptics, sound, reduced motion, word length, timer)

This data is stored in your device’s local app storage (AsyncStorage on iOS/Android; browser local storage on the web version). It is never transmitted to us or anyone else. Deleting the app — or clearing site data in your browser — permanently deletes it. We have no copy to recover.

The installed app may contact Expo’s update service (u.expo.dev, run by Expo / 650 Industries) on launch to check for over-the-air updates. This is a standard update check: it sends no game data and no personal information, but like any HTTPS request it exposes your IP address and device OS version to Expo’s servers. Expo’s own privacy policy applies to that request: https://expo.dev/privacy

The game plays identically with no connection at all — airplane mode works indefinitely. The web version at *.expo.app is served from Expo’s hosting CDN, which likewise sees a standard web request.

• No user accounts or sign-in of any kind
• No analytics, telemetry, or usage tracking
• No advertising or ad SDKs
• No sale or sharing of personal information (there is none to share)
• No access to contacts, photos, location, microphone, camera, or files
• No cookies (the web version uses local storage only, as described above)
• No third-party data processors other than the Expo update check noted above

Letter Thief collects no personal information from anyone, including children. It is suitable for all ages (rated 4+ equivalent).

Since no personal data is collected, there is nothing to access, correct, export, or delete on our side. Removing the app deletes everything.

California residents (CCPA/CPRA): we do not collect, sell, or share personal information. EU/UK users (GDPR): there is no processing of personal data to which those rights would apply, beyond the incidental Expo update request described above.

If the app ever gains a feature that touches data differently (e.g. optional leaderboards), this policy will be updated and the change noted in the app’s release notes before that feature ships.
